Deck formats — One Piece

One Piece Card Game decks are built with 1 Leader, 50 main deck cards (Character, Event, Stage), and a separate 10-card DON!! deck. Official tournaments use Standard Regulation (rotating) or Extra Regulation (non-rotating).

Universal construction rules

  • Main deck: exactly 50 cards — Character, Event, and Stage only. The Leader is kept in a separate area and does not count toward the 50.
  • DON!! deck: exactly 10 generic DON!! cards (no copy limit).
  • Leader: exactly 1 card.
  • Copy limit: maximum 4 copies per card number (alternate arts with the same number share the limit).
  • Color identity: every card must use only colors present on the Leader. Multicolor cards count as all of their colors.
  • Card effects that explicitly change construction rules override these base rules.

Rules

  • Constructed — rotating format for most local and championship events.
  • From April 1, 2026, Block 1 (OP01–OP04) rotates out. Legal pool is Block 2 and newer.
  • Legality is determined by the block icon on the card, not the set name. Manga Rares from OP01–OP05 remain legal as an exception.
  • Reprint rule: if a card is reprinted with a newer legal block icon, all versions of that card number are treated as having the new block.
  • Uses the global Banned / Restricted / Banned Pair list.

Limited formats

Banned / Restricted / Banned Pair list

  • Banned: 0 copies allowed (all alternate arts and reprints with the same card ID).
  • Restricted: only 1 copy allowed (none currently in effect as of Dec 2023).
  • Banned Pair: two specific cards cannot coexist (e.g. Monkey.D.Luffy OP11-040 with Charlotte Katakuri or Charlotte Linlin).
  • Known banned cards include Gecko Moria (OP06-086), Ice Age, Jinbe, Nami, and Trafalgar Law.
  • The list applies globally in Standard and Extra. Banned cards remain playable in Casual and Limited formats.
The Odhinbox deck validator applies these rules automatically when checking a deck.
